The RÖSLE family
Our founding fathers
The RÖSLE group of companies originated from the beginnings of a small innovative craft business. The master tinsmith Karl Theodor Rösle founded his company in 1888, initially manufacturing products and accessories for construction and roof drainage under the name RÖSLE in a small area in the center of Marktoberdorf with his journeymen and assistants. Early on, he recognized the opportunities of industrial production, which was still in its infancy in many industries at the time. He did not want to come to terms with the limitations of purely manual work. His aim was to combine this high-quality but less efficient production method with new, mechanical production methods. As early as 1903, he also added a new product line to the original range: cookware.
The early death of the founder in 1907 almost meant the end of the company. Women's power saved the day: his wife Viktoria took over the management of the company and also steered production during the First World War. It was only afterwards that their two children Karl Gustav and Georg Rösle joined forces to form the "RÖSLE brothers".
Business developed well. Another eight years later, the company moved to a new, larger factory outside the then city center - today's location in Johann-Georg-Fendt-Straße.
The names of the product lines were separated almost 100 years after the company was founded. From 1985, the products are sold under the names under which they are still known today: Roofing products under the name GRÖMO (Gebrüder RÖsle Markt-Oberdorf) and cookware under the name RÖSLE.

The company continued to grow
In order to meet the constantly increasing demand for space, additional production and storage halls were built outside the city for GRÖMO in 1993/94.However, not only GRÖMO but also RÖSLE developed so well in their market that the owners - exclusively members of the Rösle family - decided to legally separate the two divisions in order to give them optimum scope for development. In 2002, RÖSLE and GRÖMO were transformed from pure brand names into independent companies, GRÖMO GmbH & Co. KG and RÖSLE GmbH & Co. KG.In order to drive forward the continuous expansion of the GRÖMO brand, FRANK Bauelemente was acquired in 2005. This enabled the company group to expand its expertise in the field of custom-made metal products and craftsmanship know-how as a successful addition to the fully automated systems in Marktoberdorf.
Our new building is complete!
After around 2 years, the time has come: the largest investment project in the company´s history, the large-scale new building project, has been completed.
And it is something ot be proud of:
The new building in Marktoberdorf in the idyllic Allgäu region has not only expanding logistics capacity, but also creating a contact point for customers and interested parties. At the heart of the logistics center is the fully automated small parts warehouse with additional pallet spaces, which is being built on an area of 3,000 square meters and offers sufficient space for the optimal storage and provision of products. The use of state-of-the-art technologies will ensure efficient and fast processing of the flow of goods, reducing delivery times and increasing customer satisfaction.
A multi-storey building that combines various functions is being built directly adjacent. On two floors, each with 400 square meters, the new RÖSLE store provides direct access to the variety of products and invites customers to try them out and experience them.
The range is complemented by the barbecue and cooking school, which is also housed in the new building complex. Here, customers have the opportunity to improve their barbecue skills or learn new cooking techniques under expert guidance. A wonderful journey into the world of RÖSLE!
